Huaso:

Adjective to indicate characteristics of central and part of southern Chile, such as “huasa culture” or “Rancagua, huasa city”.

Fonda:

Temporary place where food and drinks are sold and dancing takes place during the Fiestas Patrias in September.

Terremoto [trago]:

It is a traditional Chilean cocktail or drink, created at the end of the 20th century, and can be recognized as a derivative of the Roman style punch. The nomore is due to the fact that it was invented after the 1985 earthquake in Chile.

Caña:

It is used to describe hangover or discomfort after drinking alcohol in excess.

Dar Jugo:

Wasting time, not being productive; speaking gibberish

Carrete:

Party, social entertainment in which people talk, dance and drink.

Colarse:

Entering without permission, jumping the line, not waiting your turn.

Copete:

Any type of alcoholic beverages and drinks in general)

Picada:

Low-profile place to buy quality products (food, objects, gifts).

Vaca [Hacer una]:

Collection of money among several people. In the south, “hacer una cucha”.
